This week I joined Embark as your new Executive Director and have been in training with Josh, your previous Executive Director. I wanted to take a minute to say how excited I am to be joining this astounding group of change-makers pursuing campus sustainability and introduce myself to Embark’s determined supporters.

I first came to Embark as a master of public health student exploring the impacts of climate change (and the drivers of climate change) on women’s health. Committed to systemic change that transforms social inequities, I began by volunteering and then later took on the role of Grants Coordinator, facilitating the adjudication of our seed funds for socially and environmentally impactful student projects. Before coming to SFU, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara and spent several years mobilizing communities to end relationship abuse at a nonprofit called Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments. I bring my dedication to horizontal organizing, social inclusion, and strategic change to the sustainability movement as Embark’s new Executive Director. As we begin the new school year, I look forward to connecting with our amazing members and supporters – in other words, you!
