You are welcome to join Embark Sustainability’s Climate Equity team in The Embark Studio for a first Listen & Paint event! Together we’ll listen to and chat about Don’t Call Me Resilient’s podcast episode, “The unfairness of the climate crisis” followed by a guided art session where you’ll get to channel your thoughts and feelings, frustrations and inspirations.
👉 Besides a creative hour with tons of art supplies, we’ll provide Tea and snacks, YUM.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
This event will take place on the unceded homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and kʷikʷəƛw̓əm (Kwikwetlem) Nations. Unceded means that this land was never surrendered, transferred or relinquished in any way and, as such, the land remains sovereign Indigenous territory.
It is our intention to ground our session in Indigenous sovereignty over the lands and waters we call home, and use this time together to unpack the colonial systems of power (including Canadian governance) that perpetuate the climate crisis.
ACCESSIBILITY
Embark Sustainability events are free and open to Embark members which includes Simon Fraser University undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Embark Associate Members.
This event will be held indoors at the Embark Studio, room #1310 of the Student Union Building (SUB), SFU Burnaby. The SUB is located south of Freedom Square between the Diamond Family Auditorium (DFA) and the Academic Quadrangle (AQ).
