Sustainability Career Night: Voicing Movements

January 31, 2023 @ 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

A speaker phone creates white bubbles over a red, yellow and orange background. Text reads Sustainability Career Night Voicing Movements Storytellers and communicators for climate justice Tuesday, January 31st 5:30 to 7 pm Zoom. Embark Sustainability and the UBC Climate Hub logos sit at the bottom of the graphic.

This event will showcase the ways professional communicators can reframe and re-story our understandings of climate justice and climate change. Learn how storytelling can advance sustainability, equity, and well-being in our communities, all while getting a taste of the career opportunities that exist at the intersections of creativity, communications and climate!

This event will consist of short presentations by a panel of sustainability leaders. Each speaker will discuss their journey to reach their current role, along with barriers they overcame along the way. Speakers will also provide recommendations for participants who are looking to start their careers in climate communication. After the presentations, each speaker will be in a Q&A breakout room where participants will have the opportunity to engage with them and ask questions. Students will have the opportunity to visit two facilitated breakout rooms during the evening. Finally, the speakers will engage in a panel discussion to finish up the evening.

RSVP required!

Sustainability Career Night is an opportunity for students from SFU, UBC, and other post-secondary students to learn from professionals championing sustainability in various fields.
