October Community Kitchen: Recipes from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

October 30, 2019 @ 4:30 AM - 7:30 PM

Come together to cook and enjoy a four-course vegetarian or plant-based meal, while connecting with other SFU students.
About this Event
Community Kitchens are a low-barrier gathering space where SFU students come together to cook and enjoy a four-course vegetarian or plant-based meal over a three-hour period. Join us for the second Community Kitchen for the fall semester, at the Women’s Centre October 30th. Read below on this month’s facilitator, Miraf Haile.

A little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. My parents are both from there. Because my family size is large, I spent half the time at my grandmother’s, which is where I learned how to cook. I came to Canada in December 2014 to study and cooking together with music is my way of staying connected to my home country and my Grandma.
