Thinking about the state of climate change can be anxiety-inducing; it’s hard to find hopeful narratives. At this event we will be talking about how to shift the narrative of climate doom to climate hope. We will be using words, literature and poetry to challenge negative perspectives on climate change and find positive ideas of hope and resilience.
At this workshop, you’ll:
People at any level and experience of writing and collaging are welcome!
This event is in collaboration with Embark Sustainability and the Student Learning Commons.
This event takes place on the unceded homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and kʷikʷəƛw̓əm (Kwikwetlem) Nations.

Julia Lane is deeply passionate about students reclaiming writing as a tool for their self-expression. She works at the Student Learning Commons to support with writing, language and learning skills that can help with academic success, whatever that may look like to you!
Embark Sustainability events are free and open to Embark Sustainability members which includes Simon Fraser University undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Embark Sustainability Associate Members.
