March 19, 2020 @ 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM

PSA – we’ve decided to cancel next week’s Community Kitchen and Mix & Munch due to COVID-19 concerns.

Our team is committed to supporting the wellbeing of our student members and are currently taking preventative measures to ensure the safety of all upcoming programming and events. Stay tuned for more updates and make sure to wash your hands!

Come together to cook and enjoy a four-course vegetarian or plant-based meal, while connecting with other SFU students.

About this Event

Community Kitchens are a low-barrier gathering space where SFU students come together to cook and enjoy a four-course vegetarian or plant-based meal over a three-hour period. Join us for February’s Community Kitchen at the Women’s Centre, March19th. We’re welcoming this month’s facilitator, Denise Somuah-Asamoah.

Denise Somuah-Asamoah is a Biomedical Physiology undergraduate student from Ghana who has been studying at SFU since the Fall of 2017. She has been involved in life here at SFU through volunteering in various clubs such as the Students of Caribbean and African Ancestry and the African Students Association. She has been a foodie for as long as she can remember and began to explore the world of vegetarianism and veganism when she moved to Canada in 2015. She loves to experiment in the kitchen and try new things like “veganizing” traditional Ghanaian dishes. She is also a proud banana bread snob.

You’re invited to a celebration of flavours at SFSS Women’s Centre and cook delicious Ghanaian food – you don’t want to miss this!
