Join Simran Sarai from Embark’s Food Justice Coordinator for a cozy evening of cooking and conversation! 🌱 Together, we’ll dive into community food distribution through traditional meals often prepared at the gurdwara. Enjoy delicious dishes while discussing the importance of diverse food sources and how various cultures contribute to food justice. Come savor a taste of Punjab and explore ways we can all support equitable food access! 🍲✨

This event takes place on the unceded homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and kʷikʷəƛw̓əm (Kwikwetlem) Nations.
Simran Sarai (she/her)
Simran is a student in the Resource and Environmental Management program and the 2024-2025 Food Justice Coordinator at Embark Sustainability. She enjoys learning about cooking from her mother and is excited to share some of what she has learned at the November Community Kitchen! When she’s not in class or at the Embark Studios, you can find Simran hiking, running, or reading!
Embark Sustainability events are free and open to Embark Sustainability members which includes Simon Fraser University undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Embark Sustainability Associate Members.
