Welcome to Community Kitchen, where culinary creativity meets cultural celebration 🍽️ This collaborative cooking event aims to nurture conversations about food through the lens of justice, culture, and shared experience. Featuring plant-based recipes and fresh vegetables, join us to hear stories, gain culinary knowledge, connect with others, and top off the night by sharing a free meal you helped prepare.

This event takes place on the unceded homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and kʷikʷəƛw̓əm (Kwikwetlem) Nations.
Zaena Tesfa
Zaena (she/they) is Programs Manager of Embark, pepperoncini enthusiast, and a cook to many. After going vegan in 2019, she’s been on an expedition to explore the plant-based cuisines of different cultures, and adores, more than anything, surprising folks with how delicious plant-based dishes can be!
Embark Sustainability events are free and open to Embark Sustainability members which includes Simon Fraser University undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Embark Sustainability Associate Members.
