Sustainability Career Night: Catalysts for Justice and Change

November 4, 2021 @ 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

A night to give you a taste of the career opportunities that exist at the intersections of socio-environmental justice and sustainability.

About this event

Join Embark Sustainability in collaboration with CityStudio Vancouver, the Kwantlen Student Association, UBC Climate Hub and the Student Association of BCIT this November for the oh-so-popular Sustainability Career Night! This event will showcase the stories of outstanding professionals who are working to catalyze justice and change in our communities. We’ll look at how their different career paths help to create a more just and sustainable world, and how yours can too. The goal of this night is to give you a taste of the career opportunities that exist at the intersections of socio-environmental justice and sustainability.

This event will consist of fast-paced presentations by sustainability leaders who work in a range of positions. Each speaker will discuss their journey to reach their current role, along with barriers they overcame along the way. They will speak about how their work serves to catalyze change and justice for people, communities and systems. Speakers will also provide recommendations for participants who are looking to start their careers in sustainability. After the presentations, each speaker will be in a Q&A breakout room where participants will have the opportunity to engage with them and ask questions. Students will have the opportunity to visit two facilitated breakout rooms during the evening.

RSVP required!
