Embark is an independent, student-led non-profit based out of Simon Fraser University. We receive $2.00 per full-time and $1.00 per part time student each semester, as set by successful student referendums. Upon paying student fees, all students are members of Embark and gain access to our society’s programming and services.
This includes access to:
- Social Innovation Seed Fund
- Volunteer opportunities, including board directorships
- Programming, including Food Rescue, Community Kitchen and the Learning Gardens
We understand that not everyone is as passionate as we are about social, environmental, or economic issues at SFU. For that reason, we created a Member Opt-out and Fee Refund Policy that allows students to request refunds.
To opt-out and request a refund, please read this policy and schedule a meeting with ESS staff. Please note that you will be required to provide proof of enrolment and your Student Card for verification. Once your opt-out and member fee refund is processed, you will no longer be a member of Embark and will lose access to the society’s services.
